U.S. official says Trump welcomes new anti-Russian sanctions

MOSCOW, Feb 14 (PRIME) -- The U.S. President Donald Trump has highly acclaimed the new sanctions against Russia proposed by the Treasury, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Wednesday.

Earlier in February, news agency Bloomberg published a U.S. Treasury report saying that expansion of the sanctions to new Russian debt may destabilize global markets and spread beyond the country to have “negative spillover effects into global financial markets and businesses.”

In August 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump signed a bill introducing additional sanctions against Russia.
